I feel like I would like to press on the subject matter of Joseph Conrad's relationship to Frued. Which also would relate to the main character of the book Marlow I would like to talk about the obvious connection between Conrad and Frued but also how Conrad relates to Marlow

I dont agree with Freud his ideas are two outlandish and extreme. However I find Merfin a little bit more relatable His ideas that the characters in the Heart of Darkness are there to represent Joseph Conrad's alter ego make a lot of sense and would explain a lot of the characters situations in the book makes the book more clear and understandable.  

HOD the end...

The tribe turns against kurtzs. He is in trouble, Marlow playing the role of Conrad of course takes the side of Kurtzs. Marlow has not transformed enough to be able to take the side of the "Pilgrim tribe". His old self kicks in and wants to save Kurtzs, just as it did for Conrad. However it seems as though the woman at the end of the story wearing all black belives that Marlow has gone made, and Kurtzs is a made up human being. It seems as though Marlow has truly become Joseph Conrad and has gone mad.  

Reading now vs next year

Freshmen year through junior year I did not read that much. However once the iPad was introduced to us I began to read much more. I use apps to have the text read to me. Making it much easer to follow along and making it easier to understand and making the story more enjoyable. Also I fell more prepared for in class discussion because of it

Heart of Darkness opens in a very bright setting of a boat heading to Africa. I don't like the books main character Marlow. Although the book opens with a very bright setting he contrasts the setting sharply. He twits the book into a dark black hole. Throughout the novel Marlow takes what seems to be good and turn it into bad. He is also going to Africa for what we consider today to be all the wrong reasons. As the book progresses more of Freud seems to show in Marlow. It seems as though Marlow is about to jump down the rabbits whole and spiral and crash he is not heading into the right direction and is only follow in the authors Joseph Conrad's foot steps.

Freud vs heart of darkness

A lot of the detail lies in the background. The author of heart of darkness was brought up around the same time as frauds theories. They were brought up with theses well known dark theories. The both have keen interest dark and taboo imagery. It seems as though they were both born in the underground not really brought. Up properly.

Heart of Darkness

The story starts out very slowly, the story begins on a ship and talks about the main characters journey to Africa while on the ship. The story begins to progress very slowly however. I feel once the main character arrives in Africa the story will begin to progress much faster.
